When visiting Piedmont, it’s easy to see why this city is rated as on of the most desirable neighborhoods in which to live in the nation,. It’s a lovely and quiet residential community, with tree lined streets, beautiful homes and architecture, dotted with parks throughout. There are wooded paths, tennis courts, a community pool, and children’s playgrounds – a fabulous place to grow up!
It is incorporated, so has its own police force and fire department, but is surrounded by the city of Oakland, so is also wildly convenient to all the bay has to offer.
It’s family oriented and quiet, with some of the state’s top rated schools (98% of graduates are college bound).
It is sophisticated, yet maintains a small town feel – hosting a number of events that highlight the year. The annual Fourth of July Parade draws crowds from all over the area who line the streets to see the terrific pipe bands, floats, classic cars, dancers and even Uncle Sam parade on by. There are also concerts in the park, and the annual Turkey Trot Run on Thanksgiving morning.
It is picturesque and in demand, so (fair warning!), homes are more costly here than in the surrounding areas.
